Prestressed Concrete Panels
Craven’s prestressed concrete panels can be installed horizontally to clad portal framed buildings, or they can be installed between steel columns to create a King Post retaining wall.
Our manufacturing process incorporates wire strands which are tensioned before pouring high strength concrete into the panel bed. This process increases the tensile strength of our panels, enabling a thinner panel to be used when retaining material.
A tongue (top edge) and groove (bottom edge) profile facilitates fast installation and ensures good alignment when installing multiple panels on top of one other, providing a quick and easy alternative to block work and shuttering. Sealant can be used along the top and bottom edges of the panels to create a leak-free structure.
Our panels are cast with two lifting sockets in the top edge for easy handling and fitting (with no holes to fill). Galvanised steel clips and bolts are supplied for attaching the panels to steel columns and a set of lifting hooks are provided with every order.
We can offer an exposed aggregate finish on one side of our panels. This option is often favoured by planning authorities as an alternative to stone facing
